One of the terrible twosome - Chip and Dale. The Chipmunks made their first appearance in 1943. This character soap, an official piece of Walt Disney Productions merchandise, was from a recently acquired vintage soap collection which was put together during the 1970's to early 1980's. However this item predates this by several decades and was made in the 1950's by Cussons. Considering it is about 60 years old it has survived incredibly well. The box and the separate lid remain intact and strong, there are no tears, creases, fading or discolouration but there is slight rubbing along edges which adds to that vintage look. The soap is wrapped in its original cellophane wrapper which is opened and thick tissue for protection. The moulded soap, being in perfect condition, is well defined and painted. An ideal item for a novelty soap collector, for a collector of household products, a collector of Walt Disney memorabilia or for someone who needs a companion to their Dale.
