Kojak was an American action crime drama television series starring the late Telly Savalas as the title character, New York City Police Department Detective Lieutenant Theophilus "Theo" Kojak. It aired from 1973 to 1978 and reprised as seven TV movies in the 1980s.

The show revolved around the efforts of the tough and incorruptible Kojak, a bald, rather dapper police lieutenant, who was fond of lollipops and become known worldwide for the catchphrase "Who loves ya, baby?", although remarkably he only ever said the phrase three times during the original 118 episodes. Kojak was stubborn and tenacious in his investigation of crimes displaying a dark, cynical wit, with a tendency to bend the rules if it brought a criminal to justice.

Such popularity spawned a plethora of merchandising opportunities. One such item was this Kojak crime story and jigsaw. The idea being you first read the story, try to crack the case and then complete the accompanying 750 piece jigsaw which provided the solution.

Produced by Detecto Puzzles and dating from c.1976 this item is a real rareity as in 50 years it has never been opened. The original cellophane wrapper although now splitting still hugs the box. The box retains it's vivid colouring but has suffered some crushing while being stored away for half a century.
