Description
The Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II took place on the 2nd June 1953 and saw a plethora of commemorative wares produced. This square ceramic plate is one such item. Being over 60 years this souvenir remains in a reasonably good condition apart from some radial crazing of the glaze and some slight rubbing of the gilding around the edge. The coloured transfer design shows a sepia photograph of the Queen surrounded by royal regalia in the centre of the plate and a repeated flag and date design on each side. A lovely item for a collector of Royal Memorabilia, or for someone with a connection to the Coronation or as an item in a themed 1950's/Coronation display.
