Description
A genuine piece of Royal Memorabilia dating from 1938. It commemorates the forthcoming coronation of King George VI (1938-1952). Considering it is almost 80 years old it is in amazing condition. The front cover, on which the original owner has written her name, has retained it's vivid colour. There is slight rubbing along the spine, the two staples have rusted so severely they have broken and have discoloured the pages around the original position of the staples. All the pages have been accounted for and are clean and unmarked apart from the rust staining. The text describes in depth the King's life so far and greatly focuses on the countries and peoples of the British Empire. It is beautifully illustrated with a great plethora of sepia photographs. There are many interesting advertisements within the magazine. A truly wonderful item ideal for a collector of Royal Memorabilia, or for a student of Royal or early 20th Century British history, as an item in a late 1930's themed display or themed house or simply as a very fascinating piece to read.
