As with all momentous royal events, scores and scores of related memorabilia was produced and this is just such an item. This tin is in very good condition considering it's age although there is some minor surface wear but this doesn't detract from the appeal of the tin and adds to the vintage look. The lid remains unfaded and depicts the royal couple between a lion and unicorn with the union flag forming the background. Around the base of the tin is the coronation procession which is gilded but some has been rubbed by constant handling. There is no indication of maker or the original use of the tin but most likely for biscuits. A lovely item for any collector of royal memorabilia, or as part of a period display or simply as a decorative piece.
