Take That sang "Just try and have a little patience." and now you can with this small pack of antique Patience playing cards. Dating from betweem 1897 and 1921 this item has survived surprisingly well. The cardboard box, covered in burgundy paper to give a faux leather look is decorated with gold ink and would have looked expensive new. The ten decades have taken it's toll. Although intact the edges are heavily rubbed and there are two splits and the gold ink has faded somewhat. The actual set comprises of two packs of playing cards which are smaller in size than normal playing cards. Each pack is decorated on the reverse with a Celtic design. One pack is red and the other blue. Both packs are complete but it appears a joker is missing from the red set. All cards are in very good, clean condition. A great object for collectors of vintage playing cards, for someone who enjoys card games or for someone who wishes to own an inexpensive antique.
