If you’ve ever wanted to take charge of a Boeing 747, the legendary “Jumbo Jet” that once flew routes from the UK to the USA, this vintage game might be just the thing for you and your friends. Released in 1975 by the well-known British model kit company Airfix, it lets 2–9 players step into the role of Air Traffic Controllers. Designed to mirror real-life air traffic control of the era, it features a large playing area about four feet (122 cm) long for mapping and tracking flights. Remarkably, for something played over 50 years ago, it’s in great condition.

The box is solid and intact, its lid showing a control tower view over a bustling airport. The colours are still bright, though there’s some crushing and creasing from decades of storage, plus light rubbing on the corners and edges, remnants of tape, and a mark where the original price tag once sat. Inside, the large board—made of thick card and split into four clean, undamaged pieces—fits together neatly. All the plastic playing pieces are present and in excellent condition. A leaflet is included for assembling the board, along with the original instruction sheet, now slightly discoloured with age.

Today, its rarity and vintage charm make it a prized find for board game fans and aviation memorabilia collectors alike.
