Although titled "Battleships" this particular set illustrates the wide variety of vessel in the world's navies forty years ago. This complete set of 32 cards shows different ship types from Helicopter Carrier and Frigate to Destroyer and Coastal Mine Sweeper. The pack of cards are housed in a plastic storage case consisting of a transparent lid and a red base. The plastic by it's very nature is quite brittle and can break very easily as has happened in this case with the base having a piece broken off and the lid a minor crack but both still hold the pack securely. The lid also has residue of a label still visible. Each card has a real coloured photograph of a locomotive along with associated data unusually some are formated landscape and others portrait orientation. The pack has a grubby appearance and in fair condition. With over four decades of enthusiatic play several cards have creases. The reverse of each card is blue with stylised ship. The instructions are on the back of the title card. The pack also comes with the title card of a free pack. A great item for a naval enthusiast, a collector of trump cards or vintage card games, or as originally intended as a fun, simple family game.
