Description
Imagine what it was like for the first cinema audience to see and hear the first "talkie" after years of watching silent movies. Well now you can get a hint of what it was like with this. After years of viewing traditional View-Master reels some bright spark came up with a system that added sound while viewing the pictures. Each reel has a transparent, grooved plastic disc attached which when inserted into a talking View-Master viewer works in the same way as a record player. The package consists of three reels, depicting in total 21 3D full-colour pictures of Prehistoric Life/Paleontology and a small book so the text can be read. All the items are housed in a sturdy, black plastic storage tray which in turn slips into a cardboard sleeve. Considering this item is over 40 yeras old it is in remarkably good condition. Each reel is in perfect condition, the booklet is clean with some minor creasing and the storage tray is perfect. The cardcoard sleeve which depicts some coloured scenes remains intact and unfaded but does have some minor creasing and rubbing along the edges. A great item for a View-Master collector, for a vintage toy collector or anyone interested in becoming a paleontologist.
