Description
Believe it or not when televised on ITV in the mid 1950's the jackpot was just £25!! Roy Ward Dickson (1910-1978) was a pioneering Canadian television producer, personality and writer. He was dubbed the "King of Quiz" and went on to invent, produce and host the original Canadian version of Mr and Mrs. which later became popular in the UK throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Manufactured six decades ago this game has survived in remarkably good condition. The box remains strong and intact although one corner has split. There is also some creasing and slight rubbing along the edges and corners which adds to that vintage look. The lid designed in three main colours pink, blue and yellow are as fresh and unfaded as when the game was first made. It also features a monochrome photograph of Roy himself. The instructions are glued to the underside of the lid. The colourful game board and all the contents (plastic counters, cards and question sheets, etc) are in immaculate condition, looking as though it hasn't been played much or had very careful owners. A lovely genuine period item. A great piece for a collector of vintage games, a collector of early television memorabilia, or as originally intended as an exciting "laugh 'n' learn" quiz game for all the family.
