Description
The ever popular code breaking game has been catapulted into the early electronic game age of the late 1970's. Considering this item is almost 40 years old it is in exceptional condition. The box is strong and intact, with some creasing and rubbing at the corners as would be expected of an item of this age. On the underneath are printed the details the of the game outlining the 3 solo games against the computer, 3 group games where players try to break the same code and 3 dual games where one opponent sets the code and another tries to solve it. Each of the nine games have 3 difficulty settings. The lid has bright blue and silver metallic colouring with modern fonts used for the title. As with the typical board game, a beautiful Oriental woman and the gentleman resembling a baddie from a Bond film are depicted. Due to it's age the surface has taken on a slight grubby appearance. The internal cardboard insert is in perfect condition. All the original packaging is present and still protecting the console. The console is housed in a black leather looking wallet with the company and game name in gold gilt on both sides. On the side which rests in the palm of the player, the gilding has rubbed extensively showing it was played endlessly. In the wallet is housed the original score pad and more amazingly the gold coloured, Mastermind imprinted ball point pen which is usually missing. The console is made from black plastic and resembles an early calculator, in size and depth. The buttons are coloured and gold gilding used to highlight the words and numbers. The console is in perfect working order, showing a green display. The item comes with the multi-lingual instruction leaflet. With all the components present it makes this item very rare and it would be a pity to miss out on such an opportunity. A great gift for a Mastermind enthusiast, a collector of vintage games or early electronic games, as a prop in a 1970's themed room or for someone looking to relive their childhood.
