"The best things come in small packages" and it's certainly true when it comes to this item. Being Art Deco in style, this item is likely to date from the 1920's-1930's. It has survived in amazingly clean, undamaged condition. The box is small, very tactile and made from brown Bakelite. The hinge works perfectly. The lid has a Celtic - like, geometric design engraved upon it. There are no manufacturer's marks. It doesn't look like this item has ever been used. A great gift for a collector of Bakelite objects, Art Deco items or Snuff/Smoking objects or as a useful decorative item for keeping stamps, etc.
